Huffman Engineering will attend a joint Fall Conference held by the Nebraska chapters of the American Water Works Association, American Public Works Association and the Water Environment Association November 2-4, 2016.

Lincoln, NE – October 27, 2016 – Huffman Engineering, Inc.,a leader in control systems integration, today announced that it will attend the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Nebraska Section Fall Conference in Kearney, NE. The event is held jointly with the Nebraska chapters of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and Water Environment Association (WEA) November 2-4, 2016.

Huffman Engineering will have a display at the exposition showcasing their extensive expertise in the design and implementation of turnkey automation infrastructure solutions for water and wastewater facilities. For 29 years, Huffman Engineering has served as a trusted technology and services partner to many of Nebraska’s water industry professionals.

“Huffman Engineering is proud to have participated in this event for the past 19 years,” says Howard Huffman, president, Huffman Engineering. “Utilities in Nebraska and across the U.S. are challenged by aging infrastructure and the demands of increasing regulatory requirements. Implementation of sustainable and intelligent infrastructure technologies allow utilities to optimize and measure productivity, access and analyze critical operational data, automate regulatory documentation, improve network security and manage facility costs.”

This year’s conference focuses on topics critical to the wastewater, clean water and public works industries, and features a record number of exhibitors. The breakout sessions are geared to a variety of job responsibilities, and attendees range from system operators to top-level executives such as city managers. In Nebraska, wastewater treatment facility operators are required to earn continuing education credits to maintain their license, and the conference can fulfill a portion of those requirements.

In addition to networking and continuing education, attendees can participate in social events including several contests and a charity fundraising event. The annual Texas Hold’em-style poker tournament supports the Water for People organization which brings clean water initiatives to impoverished communities around the world.
